"Stories are out to get me, I'm convinced of it. No matter where I go or what I am doing, they leap out, taking me by surprise. I have no choice but to follow..."
Woke up to a howling cold wind blustering around the house. Cold gusts blew through the old French doors of the bedroom. Rain was dripping into the water tanks behind the house. Warm and snug, I called to my husband who was already up and about.
"Release the Krackens!!"
He bravely wandered outside into the chilly morning and opened the trap-door.
I had rugged up and tentatively opened the back door to see the monsters released.
As soon as I tiptoed onto the verandah, all I heard was the thundering of feet and cries of greeting. Two bodies hurtled towards me and I backed up, behind the patio chair. The Krackens were out and I was their target!
Ducking back inside, I peered out cautiously.
Those two fat Polish Frizzle chooks were still there...waiting...gleams in their beady eyes!
WORD OF THE WEEK: Do you have problems with Blattodae in your home? If so I sympathise! Blattodae is the genus of cockroaches. So next time you're with family or friends, stump them by casually mentioning that you have Blattodae in your house. Or even more, ask them if they've got Blattodae? Enjoy the raised eyebrows and puzzled expressions!
